Meraki is a pun of the words raki and meraki. The word meraki could be translated as passion or desire. “Meraki” is also known as the “first” because it was the first rakadiko in Sitia. It’s alco called Niko’s place or Nikoli’s place from its owner Garefalakis Nikos.

Built in early 1700 and worked as a dependency of the Monastery Toplou serving the housing needs of those working in the fields and care of sheep in the monastery. While Manolis always runs the front of the house, for several years the helm of the kitchen was in the experienced hands of Manoli’s mother, Elefteria, since this year the food is prepared by Manoli’s wife Rula with the help of Popi.
